Issued in 2026, for the Printed Matter Walls Paper exhibition, this screenprint poster repurposed the original newsprint sheets created in 1972 as part of Matta-Clark’s solo exhibition of sculpture, photographs, and Walls Paper at 112 Greene Street. Printed in offset lithography for the large-scale installation, remaining sheets were cut down, bound, and published by Buffalo Press the following year as his now iconic artists’ book. Matta-Clark’s black-and-white images feature close-crops of interior walls from half-demolished buildings, hit with an additional ink pass to introduce abstract washes of color. Newly produced by Printed Matter at the invitation of the Estate of Gordon Matta-Clark, these exhibition posters take up these excess sheets of Walls Paper and give them new form as a one-color silk-screen print.
Four posters were released, each in an edition of 12; given the repurposed material used, each print is effectively unique.
