In Umschläge, which translates as “covers”, Piller reproduces the front and back cover of the magazine Armeerundschau published for the East German armed forces from 1956 to 1990. Each cover portrays a piece of military hardware or combatants while the back cover a pin-up. The project will be included in a major retrospective of Piller’s work at the Fotomuseum Winterthur.
This limited edition includes a copy of Umschläge and an original copy of the East German publication Armeerundschau magazine in a die cut card slipcase.
